HOW TO REMOVE PERFUME AND COLOGNE STAINS ON CLOTHES

Perfume and cologne stains can be a bit tricky to remove because they often contain oils and dyes. Here's a general guide on how to tackle perfume and cologne stains:

  1. Act Quickly: The sooner you address the stain, the better. Fresh stains are generally easier to remove.

  2. Blot with Paper Towel or Cloth: Gently blot the stained area with a clean, white cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the perfume or cologne as possible.

  3. Pre-treat the Stain: Apply a small amount of mild dish soap or liquid laundry detergent directly to the stained area. Gently rub the fabric together to work in the soap. Let it sit for a few minutes, but don't let it dry.

  4. Rinse with Cold Water: Rinse the stained area with cold water to remove the soap and any loosened particles.

  5. Check the Stain: Assess the stain to see if it's still visible. If the stain persists, you may need to repeat the pre-treatment process.

  6. Wash as Usual: Launder the garment according to the care instructions on the label. Use the appropriate water temperature and detergent for the fabric.

  7. Air Dry: After washing, air-dry the garment to check if the stain is completely gone. Heat from the dryer can set the stain, making it more difficult to remove in the future.

If the stain persists after these steps, you might consider consulting a professional cleaner, especially if the fabric is delicate or labeled as dry clean only. Always test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric to ensure it won't cause damage or discoloration.
