Understanding Laundry Symbols: Decoding Care Labels for Perfect Results
1. Washing Symbols
- 1 Dot: Cold water (up to 30°C or 85°F).
- 2 Dots: Warm water (up to 40°C or 105°F).
- 3 Dots: Hot water (up to 50°C or 120°F).
Hand Wash Symbol:
A hand in the bucket means the garment should be hand-washed only.
2. Drying Symbols
Line Inside a Square:
This indicates how the garment should be dried naturally.
- Horizontal Line: Lay flat to dry.
- Vertical Line: Hang to dry.
- Diagonal Lines in Top Corner: Dry in the shade to avoid sun damage.
3. Ironing Symbols
- 1 Dot: Low heat (110°C or 230°F).
- 2 Dots: Medium heat (150°C or 300°F).
- 3 Dots: High heat (200°C or 390°F).
