Red Wine Woes? How to Save Your Fabrics from Stubborn Stains
1. Blot, Don’t Rub
2. Apply Salt to Absorb the Wine
- If you’re at home, immediately cover the stain with table salt. The salt will absorb the liquid, helping to pull the wine out of the fabric. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before brushing it off.
- If salt isn’t available, baking soda can also do the trick.
3. Use White Wine or Club Soda
- White wine can neutralize red wine stains. Pour a little white wine over the stain to dilute the red, then blot it with a clean cloth.
- Alternatively, pour club soda over the stain and let the bubbles lift the wine from the fabric. Blot dry after a few minutes.
