Coffee Catastrophe? Here’s How to Bounce Back

Accidentally spilling coffee on your favorite shirt can feel like a disaster, but don’t worry! Here's a simple, effective way to remove coffee stains:

  1. Act Fast: The quicker you act, the easier it is to remove. Blot (don’t rub) the coffee with a paper towel or clean cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible.

  2. Cold Water Rinse: Run cold water through the back of the stain to push the coffee out of the fabric fibers. Do this from the inside of the garment to prevent spreading the stain.

  3. Vinegar and Soap Solution: Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of liquid dish soap with two cups of cold water. Dip a clean cloth into the solution and gently dab the stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Rinse Again: Rinse the area with cold water to remove any remaining soap and vinegar. Blot dry with a clean towel.

  5. Stubborn Stains: For older, set-in stains, mix a small amount of baking soda with water to make a paste. Gently rub it into the stain, let it sit for 30 minutes, and rinse.

  6. Launder: Wash the garment according to its care label instructions, and the coffee stain should be a thing of the past!
