Ink Blot Drama: Removing Pen Marks on fabrics Like a Pro

Accidentally marking your clothes with ink can be frustrating, but it doesn’t have to be permanent. Follow these simple steps to erase pen marks like a pro:

  1. Act Quickly: The sooner you tackle an ink stain, the easier it is to remove. Start by blotting the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb as much ink as possible. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the ink deeper into the fabric fibers.

  2. Rubbing Alcohol Solution: Dip a cotton ball or a clean cloth in rubbing alcohol (or hand sanitizer with alcohol). Gently dab the stained area, working from the outside toward the center to prevent the ink from spreading. You should see the ink transfer onto the cloth. Repeat this until the stain begins to fade.

  3. Rinse: Rinse the affected area thoroughly with cold water to remove the alcohol and any loosened ink. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  4. Dish Soap Treatment: For any remaining ink, apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain, gently working it into the fabric with your fingers or a soft brush. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing again.

  5. Vinegar and Cornstarch Paste (Optional): For stubborn stains, mix white vinegar and cornstarch to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it dry. Once dry, brush off the paste and rinse.

  6. Launder: Wash the garment according to the care label instructions. Air-dry the fabric and check if the stain has been completely removed. Avoid using the dryer until you’re sure the stain is gone, as heat can set the ink.

With these easy steps, you can confidently restore your clothes to their original ink-free state!
