Soda Splash: Fizz-Free in a Flash

Soda stains can be pesky with their sugary, fizzy residue, but they don’t have to stick around. Here’s how to get rid of those sticky soda stains quickly and effectively:

  1. Blot the Stain: First, use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot up as much of the soda as possible. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the stain deeper into the fabric fibers.

  2. Cold Water Rinse: Rinse the back of the stained area with cold water to help push the soda out of the fabric. This initial rinse is especially helpful if the stain is fresh.

  3. Apply White Vinegar Solution: Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water, then apply the solution to the stained area. White vinegar breaks down the sugar and color pigments in the soda, making it easier to remove.

  4. Dish Soap for Sugary Residue: After treating with vinegar, apply a few drops of liquid dish soap directly onto the stain. Gently rub it into the fabric with your fingers or a soft cloth, working from the outside of the stain inward to avoid spreading.

  5. Rinse and Check: Rinse thoroughly with cold water to remove the soap and dissolved stain. Inspect the area to see if any stain remains; repeat the vinegar and soap steps if needed.

  6. Pre-Treat with Laundry Detergent: For extra stain-fighting power, apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes before washing.

  7. Wash in Cold Water: Wash the garment in cold water on a gentle cycle according to the care instructions. Air-dry to ensure the stain is gone, as heat can set any residual stain.

By following these steps, you’ll have your fabric fizz-free in a flash and ready to wear again!
