Curry Conundrum: Baking Soda Soak

Curry stains, especially with their vibrant yellow color, can be a challenge. Follow these steps for an effective solution:

  1. Blot the Stain: Start by blotting any excess curry off with a clean cloth or paper towel. Be careful not to rub, as this can spread the stain further.

  2. Apply Baking Soda Paste: Mix baking soda with a small amount of water to form a paste, then apply it directly to the stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes; baking soda will help absorb oils and neutralize the turmeric color.

  3. White Vinegar Dab: For added power, dab the area with a cloth soaked in diluted white vinegar (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). This helps lift any remaining yellow dye.

  4. Liquid Dish Soap Application: Apply a few drops of liquid dish soap to the stain, gently working it into the fabric. Let it sit for another 5-10 minutes.

  5. Rinse and Cold Wash: Rinse thoroughly with cold water, then launder in cold water. Check the stain before drying, as heat can set any remaining pigment.

With this method, curry stains can be removed effectively, leaving your fabrics fresh and bright!
