Jammy Mess: Sticky Stains Solved

Jam stains are sticky and colorful, but this method will help lift them out with ease:

  1. Scrape Off Excess Jam: Use a dull knife or spoon to gently scrape off any excess jam without rubbing, which can spread the stain.

  2. Cold Water Soak: Rinse the back of the stained area with cold water to help push the stain out. Avoid hot water, as it can set the sugars in the jam.

  3. White Vinegar Soak: Mix one part white vinegar with two parts cold water, then soak the stain for about 10-15 minutes. Vinegar’s acidity works well on fruit-based stains to neutralize color.

  4. Dish Soap Dab: Gently rub a small amount of liquid dish soap onto the stain, especially effective for the sticky sugars. Let it sit for 5 minutes to break down the residue.

  5. Rinse and Wash: Rinse thoroughly with cold water and then launder in cold water. Air-dry to make sure the stain is gone, as heat can set any remaining color.

With these steps, jam stains will be easy to handle, keeping fabrics fresh and free from stickiness!
