Minty Gum Mess: Ice and Oil Trick

Removing chewing gum may seem daunting, but this ice and oil trick will help you lift it off with ease:

  1. Ice to Harden: Rub an ice cube directly on the gum until it hardens. The cold makes the gum less sticky, making it easier to remove.

  2. Scrape Off the Gum: Use a dull knife or spoon to gently scrape the hardened gum off the fabric. Work slowly to avoid damaging the fabric.

  3. Oil Residue Removal: Apply a few drops of coconut or olive oil to any remaining gum residue. The oil breaks down the gum’s stickiness, helping it to lift off easily.

  4. Blot with a Cloth: Dab a clean cloth over the oil and gum residue until it comes off completely.

  5. Dish Soap Rinse: Apply a small amount of dish soap to remove any oily spots, then rinse with cold water.

  6. Launder: Wash as usual in cold water and air-dry to ensure the gum and any oily residue are completely gone.

With this ice and oil trick, your fabrics will be gum-free in no time!
