Rust Ruin: Iron Out Those Stains from fabrics

Rust stains may seem stubborn, but these steps will help you tackle them effectively:

  1. Apply Lemon Juice: Squeeze fresh lemon juice directly onto the rust stain. The acidity of lemon juice helps break down rust particles. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

  2. Add Salt for Extra Power: Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the lemon juice on the stain. Salt works as an abrasive and helps lift the rust particles from the fabric.

  3. Sunlight Boost: Place the stained area in direct sunlight for 15-30 minutes. The combination of lemon, salt, and sunlight can work wonders on rust stains. Keep an eye on the fabric to avoid drying it out completely.

  4. Rinse with Cold Water: Rinse the treated area with cold water to wash away the lemon and salt mixture, along with any loosened rust particles.

  5. Apply White Vinegar and Detergent for Stubborn Stains: For particularly tough stains, dab with white vinegar, let it sit for a few minutes, and then apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent. Let it soak for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

  6. Cold Water Wash: Launder in cold water and air-dry. Avoid using heat until you’re certain the stain is completely gone.

These steps will help you “iron out” those rust stains and keep your fabrics looking fresh!
